In 1977 Disney produced The New Mickey Mouse Club, a colorful, updated version of the well-loved 50s television show. My Mom worked at Disney Studios at the time, and one day, she brought home the MMRC Newsletter that announced the debut of the show. She also brought a cast card and the album, and I was an instant fan. I took the cast card to school the next day and showed it to my friends. Throughout that school year, it was widely known that I and a couple of my friends were Mouska-Wild for the Mickey Mouse Club. We wanted to be Mouseketeers. Here are actual things kids signed in my sixth-grade yearbook.

But I hardly ever got to watch the Mickey Mouse Club. You see, our TV was on the blink and we were lucky if we could watch a whole program without the screen blacking out. But that didn't stop me from listening to the album over and over and memorizing all of the songs.

But I did live only a few minutes away from Disneyland so I was able to go and watch the Mouseketeers perform live and even meet them several times. (General Admission tickets were only five dollars back then! - Imagine that, Michael Eisner!)

Well, it's been over 25 years now and I am amazed at the number of people out there who search the internet hoping to find out what happened to their favorite Mouseketeer, or who just want to reminisce about the show.

My site was originally a project to help me learn the basics of web design, but having it has literally brought me in contact with the same kids I used to sit with at Disneyland waiting for the 'Summer of 78' shows. (ALL DAY LONG!) Yeah, maybe we were geeks, but it was so much fun!

I hope to share with you some of my favorite memories of the New Mickey Mouse Club and I hope you will share some of yours with me. Sign my guestbook and after you've looked around a little, visit my links page and see what the other crazy NMMC webmasters have created. Don't miss Karen Tjaden's sites, which have tons of fantastic photos and info. Karen also started and moderates the NMMC Yahoo Mailing List.

And if you haven't already been there, visit Joel Wright's (DM-One) site...I believe his was the first of its kind. Joel also has been hosting a weekly chat session since 1998.

In addition to this site, I have a personal photography blog, eleventwentyseven.com, another fansite, Vince-Vaughn.com, and my design portfolio, Threethirtythree Design.

Thanks so much for visiting!
